2/9/2024 0 Comments Lego imperial shuttle kylo renI've also fixed the folding problem on the wings. Fortunately, this looks better with this lighter color tone. The original model was heavily criticized for its color choices (it should have been black) and its non folding wings. The build is very sturdy so that it won't fall apart while swooshing. I got some ideas from 75055-1 - Imperial Star Destroyer. He needed a place where he could face with his anger issues. And also time to think about the terrible things he did. Backstory: After the assault on Starkiller Base, Kylo Ren was seriously injured and needed rest. A most unexpected by very welcome Grand Moff Tarkin, you know, Peter Cushing’s stone-cold character from Episode IV who had the chops (and balls) to boss Vader around.Kylo Ren's Star Destroyer: Alternate build of 75104 - Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle. We also got a standard issue First Order Stormtrooper, an all-new shiny apple-red Sith Trooper and the Supreme Leader / Rise of Skywalker version of Kylo Ren. We also get 6 minifigs! Two of them are Knights of the Ren, and according to RrickLink, the fellow with the axe is Ap’lek and the club-bearer is Ushar. It’s got a couple of projectile missile launchers and the top lifts up to reveal room for 3. The level of detail is amazing, and once the wings are extended, their natural weight will “pull them” down to their appropriate angle once the ship is picked up. I’d pretty much given up on it, but somewhere in those 2 weeks before the COVID shutdown I spotted one of these big-ass boxes over in the corner that was Kohl’s version of a “clearance section.” Now $95 ain’t cheap, but it is $35 off the MSRP and I figured I’d never see it that good again (25%-ish off). When I first saw the box, I saw that wings were actually folded out and man I really wanted that set. Even the big LEGO out at the time didn’t fold…I felt truly bad for those children…I did like the underside loading bay though.įocus shifted over to Kylo’s dogfighter, the Silencer, during the Episode VIII era.īut with Rise of Skywalker, we’re back to the Command Shuttle. This little toy actually featured those telescoping wings, with some retractable landing gear as well. It’s not as obvious, but something like the upper third or so retracts into the lower part. Maybe I could look over it if it were stuck in its main action/flight form, but no, it’s stuck in landing position!4Įventually I got around to the little diecast “Titanium Series” starships from Hasbro. Now they made this ship into a toy over and over and over again during the The Force Awakens era and not a single one of ’em, to my knowledge, included folding wings. As it takes off and during flight, the wings fold down to something like a 35° to 45° angle. Anyone who’s seen this shuttle knows that when it lands, its wings fold up to a vertical position. Now the U-class may not be as elegant as its predecessor, but those wings. Star Wars continued with this design motif, conjuring up Krennic’s Delta-class shuttle for Rogue One and then Kylo’s Upsilon-class for the ST. (Funny thing is it went the opposite with the Khetanna…to us it was just “Jabba’s Sail Barge,” and then fwip 15 years later it’s the Khetanna! I didn’t even know the Sail Barge had its very own “ Janelle“….)Īnyways, I always loved how the Tydirium did its whole fold-unfold thing. Nowadays it’s mostly labeled as just “Imperial Shuttle” or maybe Lambda-class shuttle, but back then it was the Tydirium…kinda like if you bought a McLaren P1 and named it Janelle…sure it’s a sports car (“Imperial Shuttle”) but what kind…oh a McLaren P1 (“ Lambda-class”)….oh and you named her Janelle (“ Tydirium“). Besides the iconic Trench Run with the X-Wings and TIE Fighters, one of my first memories regarding the various starships in Star Wars was the Tydirium.
